Richard J. Crandall

Richard is the owner of EPI Financial Group and has been with the firm since 2000. He is proficient in helping families with retirement and income planning, asset allocation and wealth transfer strategies. He has handled over $150 million in assets. Richard earned his bachelor’s degree in linguistics from the University of Michigan in 1985. He received his Life and Health Insurance license in 2002, his securities license in 2010 and became an Investment Advisor Representative in 2011. Richard is committed to serving the best interest of each client, thereby upholding his fiduciary duty.
Richard enjoys golf, history and politics. He also loves traveling with his wife, Kaye. They live in Metamora and both are active in their church. They have four adult children: Mackenzie, Sterling, Jessica and Joey. They have two grandaughters, Harper and Loralee, and one grandson Cooper. They also love animals and have a Goldendoodle, an Aussiedoodle, two Double Doodles and a Shih Tzu-Maltese.
Richard’s mission is to help families coordinate their financial plan with their estate plan and keep more of their hard-earned money throughout the 3 phases of their financial lives: Accumulation, Preservation and Wealth Transfer.
Kaye L. Crandall
Executive Director of Operations
Kaye has over 25 years of experience in business and business management at both a CPA firm and Property Management company. She then joined our firm in November of 2002 and was instrumental in growing it into the successful business it is today. Kaye has pursued further education in both business management and accounting, and in 2003, acquired her Life and Health Insurance license. In August of 2017, she became an owner of the company, alongside her husband, Richard. Kaye is known for her honest, no-nonsense, practical approach to business. She blends that approach with warmth and compassion, which creates a thriving work atmosphere for our team, as well as an enjoyable and dependable client experience. She is a strong leader; she appreciates direct communication and encourages each team member to think creatively and pursue efficiency in serving clients to the very best of their ability.
Kaye and Richard have four children, two grandaughters, Harper and Loralee, and one grandson Cooper. They both love serving in their church, especially working with the children, trying to pass on their values of honesty, hard work and compassion. Kaye devotes her spare time to her many hobbies, which all satisfy her passion for creative expression. She enjoys photography, gardening, sewing and especially quilting, which allows her to use her long arm quilting machine.
